Glidden – Spina & Partners, Architecture and Interior Design, Inc. (GS&P), has been honored with a Design Excellence Award for Workspace/Office Design by the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Florida South Chapter. Recognized for the design of Sterling Corporation’s new 8,800 sf offices in Palm Beach, the ASID presented GS&P with this prestigious award at their Annual Awards ceremony held Saturday, September 25th in Ft. Myers, Florida.
The GS&P design team for the project included Senior Partner, Keith M. Spina; Director of Interior Design, Tammy O’Rourke; Senior Designer, William Caldwell; and Senior Interior Designer, Rhonda Grammer. The Team collaborated with Sterling Corporation to create a corporate showpiece that fostered innovation, reflected quality and encouraged productivity. Notable design elements include the use of dramatic light troughs accented by feature walls constructed from a mix of natural materials producing a multi-dimensional space with a bold, expressive look. The harmonious color palate fuses predominately white paired only with dark chocolate Mozambique veneer to increase visual interest and enhance the energy of the space. A budget and environmentally savvy approach was successfully employed by the use of refurbished furniture in the administrative workstations as well as the creative repurposing of existing furniture. Supporting a healthy and productive work environment, sustainable design strategies top off this award winning project and include the use of low voc paint and a design which allows for the generous use of natural light flooding the space. This award represents the second year in a row the design team from GS&P is honored with the design excellence award from the ASID Florida South Chapter.
